Objectives

The degree programme teaches engineering methods and their application based on a solid mathematical and scientific foundation. Building on this, cybernetic methods of regulation and control, mathematical modelling, simulation and optimisation are taught to solve complex technical tasks. The focus of the Master's programme is on the development and independent application of cybernetic and system-theoretical approaches and methods. In addition, the preparation for management, development and research tasks in industry or research institutions as well as the qualification for a subsequent doctoral phase is a concern of the Master's programme.

Berufliche Perspektiven

Due to the interdisciplinary orientation at the interface of engineering sciences to mathematics, computer science and natural sciences, the range extends from process engineering to robotics to medical technology and biotechnology as well as to border areas of natural and life sciences.

Basic knowledge and enjoyment of mathematics and natural sciences, comprehensive and open systems thinking, interest in modelling, simulation and computer use for technology mastery. In addition, students should have basic knowledge of systems theory and control engineering, modelling, analysis and simulation of dynamic systems and knowledge of computer science and mathematics from a previous Bachelor's degree.
