Duties of the Rector
The Rector represents the University.
He is the chairman of the Senate and is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Senate's resolutions.
The Rector is the supervisor of the academic staff with the exception of the Vice Rectors.
He is the head of the department in the sense of the staff representation law.
The Rector exercises domiciliary rights and is responsible for maintaining order at the University.
The Rector is entitled to the honorary title "Magnificence". On ceremonial occasions, he or she wears the University chain of office.
The Office of the Rector
is responsible for the substantive and organizational management of the University.
It decides in each case, after discussion in the Senate, with the faculties and the departments, among other things, on the conclusion of target agreements with the Ministry, the distribution of allocated funds and positions or the structuring of a department.
It is composed of the Rector, three Vice Rectors and the Chancellor.
