Academic Ceremony Invitation
The Rector of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Professor Dr.-Ing. Jens Strackeljan, and the Executive Board of the Otto von Guericke Society, Professor Dr. Mathias Tullner, have the honor of inviting you to the ACADEMIC CEREMONY to be held at St. John’s Church in Magdeburg on 21 November 2023, from 6 pm, on the occasion of the 421th anniversary of the birth of Otto von Guericke.
The Academic Ceremony is the highlight of the academic year. In the 30th year of its existence, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has a special reason to celebrate. We want to recognise academics at the university for their excellent research and outstanding teaching, award young research talents for their promising scientific achievements and present other prizes to outstanding personalities.
We are pleased to have the President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, as our keynote speaker.

Every year as part of the ceremony a new edition of the GUERICKE Research Journal is published. Interested readers can immerse themselves in over 120 pages exploring the fascinating scientific universe of the University of Magdeburg.
